AI Visionary Group ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Emes-K mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use our App. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Emes-K is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, store, or process any of the following:
- Personal information (name, email address, phone number)
- Account credentials (no accounts are required to use the App)
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data
- Cookies or similar tracking technologies
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in the App.
2. How the App Works
When you scan a food product with Emes-K, the following data flow occurs:
2.1 Barcode Scanning
When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to our server, which queries various public food product databases and kosher certification APIs to look up product information. No personal information is transmitted during this process.
2.2 Ingredient Photo Analysis
When you photograph an ingredient list, the image is sent to our server for processing. Our server forwards the image to third-party AI services for ingredient analysis. This is how the App determines the kosher status of each ingredient.
Important: Photos of ingredient lists are transmitted to our server and then to third-party AI services for analysis. We do not store these photos on our servers. They are processed in real time and discarded.
2.3 Scan History
Your scan history (product names, results, and timestamps) is stored locally on your device only, using on-device SQLite storage. This data never leaves your phone. We have no access to your scan history. You can delete your scan history at any time from within the App.
3. Third-Party Services
The App interacts with the following third-party services solely for core functionality:
- Public Food Databases — Various publicly available food product and kosher certification databases used for barcode lookups and product verification. No personal data is shared with these services.
- AI Analysis Services — Third-party AI services used to analyze ingredient photos and determine kosher status. Ingredient photos are sent for processing and are not stored by us.
- Apple App Store — Manages subscriptions and payments. We do not process any payment information directly. Apple handles all billing. (Apple Privacy Policy)
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Emes-K offers optional in-app subscriptions managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not process, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details. All subscription management (billing, cancellation, refunds) is handled by Apple.
5. Data Retention
We do not retain any user data on our servers. Ingredient photos are processed in real time and immediately discarded. Barcode lookup requests are transient and not logged with any user-identifying information. Your scan history exists only on your device.
6. Data Security
All communication between the App and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. API requests are authenticated using HMAC-SHA256 request signing to prevent unauthorized access and replay attacks. Since we do not store personal data, the risk of a data breach affecting your personal information is effectively zero.
7. Children's Privacy
Emes-K does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since the App does not collect any personal information from any user, it is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations. The App is suitable for use by individuals of all ages, though it is intended for users aged 13 and older.
8. Your Rights
Because we do not collect or store personal data, traditional data subject rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) do not apply in the conventional sense. However:
- You can delete your local scan history at any time from within the App.
- You can uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data.
- You can manage your subscription through iOS Settings → Subscriptions at any time.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
